Mac OS X Mountain Lion (10.8) and Authoring Tools
- No Comments
With the recent release of Apple’s latest version of OS X (10.8 – Mountain Lion), we did some quick websearches on authoring tool compatibility for the few Macs we have here. Below are some URLs and selected bits:
“In our testing we have found no significant issues with running CS5, 5.5, CS6 or Acrobat products with Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.”
“Earlier versions of Adobe Photoshop® (CS3 and CS4) software were also tested with Mountain Lion and there are currently no known issues.”
“Creative Suite 2 software was created to run on PowerPC hardware on Macs and will not be able to run on Lion and Mountain Lion [due to the removal of Rosetta].”
“…the Gatekeeper security feature may pop-up a security dialog that warns users against downloading non-signed applications from the Internet. You can still install the un-signed applications by following these directions.”
“Storyline does not currently run on Macintosh computers [but] you can run Storyline in a Windows virtual environment on a Mac.”
“If you’re using Parallels, please review these best practices for working with Articulate software.”
(and same applies for Articulate Presenter)
No official support links for this OS X release, but here’s a thread related to Camtasia 1 and 2.
(Snagit support for OS 10.8 was added July 17, 2012)
Note these links relate to the authoring tools, not the published output from those tools…
